#gm0146 - Developed by Technos Japan Corp. and Published by Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. "Double Dragon II: The Revenge" was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in January of 1990, and is an outstanding port of the Super Classic hit arcade game. This sequel is a 3rd-Person Perspective, Side-Scrolling action fighter. The game scenario is that after Billy's girlfriend Marian was rescued in the first Double Dragon game, the Black warrior gang returns and murders Marian in retaliation. It's now personal as Billy and Jimmy Lee are on a twofold mission of revenge and destruction of the Black Warrior gang once and for all. But in their quest to defeat the evil Shadow Warriors, Billy and Jimmy must fight their way through 9 challenging missions, facing Ninja fighters with nunchakus and giant mutant warriors. They must fight through alleys, construction sites and underwater hideouts complete with spiked ceilings. Double Dragon II also has roll playing elements and features the same outstanding controls as its predecessor. The levels are all very well designed, the animation fluid, and the graphics and sound are also good. Double Dragon II features 1 and 2 player simultaneous, head-to-head action, the option to turn off friendly fire, nice cut-scenes, new moves, all new stages and a new and last boss. Double Dragon II is better than the first, but just as challenging and exciting to play, and even more fun when playing with a friend because it now features 2-player co-op play. And in the bonus mission, they fight the ultimate battle between good and evil with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Double Dragon II is also known as "Double Dragon 2," "DDII," and "DD2". Pre-owned - Includes Game Only - Rarity Rating D+ - Double Dragon II Review by "NES Gamer".
