Mission Impossible

$9.99

#n64gm107 - Developed and Published by Infogrames Europe SA, "Mission: Impossible" was released for the Nintendo 64 (N64) Entertainment System on July 18, 1998. This is a 1st and 3rd-Person Perspective action and puzzle solving shooter game that is sort of a mix between Mario and 007 Goldeneye (but a little rough around the edges). Loosely based upon the hit movie of the same name, Mission Impossible captures the suspense of this spy thriller, starring secret agent Ethan Hunt. The game scenario is that a mole has infiltrated the IMF team and has framed Ethan Hunt. So he sets about to prove his loyalty and innocence, with a little help from his friends. His mission is to steal the NOC list to lure the mole into the open so he can clear his name. He must of course avoid capture, while exploring and finding the clues to help him out of his situation. Mission Impossible has 24 nice levels in which Ethan will have to infiltrate enemy bases, retrieve stolen information, and battle international terrorists. You will have your choice of a large selection of different weapons and useful tools (Sniper Riffle, Uzi, night view glasses, 9mm, 7.65mm hand gun with silencer, dart gun, sleeper darts, hand grenades, field scanner, nausea powder, smoke generator, face maker, etc.), but you must also strategize and use your decision making skills to the optimum. The various missions vary widely and the pace is smooth and deliberate so that you can make the decisions you need to get through the stages. The sound is spectacular and it's hard to miss the Mission: Impossible theme, which is right on the money. The graphics are very good on the indoor levels with nice texture design. The outside levels are less inviting, but not bad. The game also includes an impressive amount of cutscenes. The gameplay is also outstanding, with multiple camera angles and a challenging A.I. You will not want to miss out on the highlight of this game, which is the Embassy Party. Everyone who helped you in this quest will be there, and this is a brilliant level. All in all, it's a nice game that is highly original and tries to stand out amidst the gaggle of hum drum shooters. Mission Impossible was a lot of fun for me to play, and even years after its release, I still have a great entertaining time playing it.
