Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams

$13.99

GCG0120 - Developed by Avalanche Software LLC and published by THQ, Inc., "Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams" was released on October 11, 2004. If you liked Tak: The Power of Juju, you'll love the staff of dreams, as it is a better conceived and challenging game than it's predecessor. This 3D platformer is a better romp through a unique and pleasantly surreal visual setting, with amusement and style. The world in Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams is even more visually surreal, and has a little bit of everything. In this offering, our hero Tak, falls into trance-sleep wherein he travels to a dream world. He must rescue the good princess princess, or succumb to a sleep from which he will never awaken. When he awakes, Tak and Jibolba (Tak's mentor) travel to visit Jibolba's brother (JB), who is expertly versed in dreams. Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams is somewhat different from Tak and the Power of Juju, as there is less time spent on collecting, and more time spent on combat and solving puzzles. Most of the collecting of scrolls, critters, fruits and precious stones are optional now. But they are used to unlock minigames, bonus items and such. Apart from being a lot more lengthy than the last version, the gameplay has greatly improved. Instead of the simple battle hits of the previous game, there are power attacks and various combat techniques you can learn to perform. In the beginning stages, Tak uses animals to his advantage as he makes his way through then. And Tak can gain powers that allow him to transform, as example into a frog so he can navigate the waters without becoming crocodile food. Or into a hod to break through barriers, or a flying squirrel to soar on air currents. Whenever Tak gains the titular Staff of Dreams, he possesses more powerful attacks using the power of JuJu (magic). The levels are all exciting and genuinely enjoyable. This game is definitely an upgrade and better than the first, and well worth the price. Pre-owned. E Rated. Includes case, disk and instruction manual - Plays on Gamecube or Wii - Rarity Rating C
