Duke Nukem: Zero Hour

n64gm028 - Developed by Eurocom Entertainment Software and Published by GT Interactive Software Corp., "Duke Nukem: Zero Hour" was released for the Nintendo 64 (N64) Entertainment System in September of 1999. Duke Nukem, one of the best action hero in gaming, starts his second third-person-perspective adventure for the Nintendo 64. The scenario of Duke Nukem: Zero Hour is almost patterned after the movie Terminator, in that the aliens this time want to take over the world before Duke was even born by time travel. But like Reese in terminator, Duke follows them through time in a quest to halt their sinister plans for world conquest. The difference is that in Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, Duke has an arsenal of up to 20 all-new weapons. And unlike Terminator, Duke travels through up to four time periods, including the wild west, the dark ages, victorian London and finally the post apocalyptic world of the future. The level design in Duke Nukem: Zero Hour is actually quite good, with nice environments and very atmospheric. Our hero has to be wary of 25 murderous enemies and eight bosses that he must face down, but the multitude of weapons can see him through, with a little skill. You will enjoy this game, as there are many hidden items, secrets to be revealed and cheats to help. The gameplay is good, the music and sound is clear and detailed, and the graphics are good, what you have grown to expect from the Nintendo 64 of that era. Definitely made for mature audiences. I would recommend using the expansion pak to take advantage of superior graphics. The game features multiplayer mode for up to four people on 14 levels. Duke Nukem is a tough, challenging enjoyable shooter that doesn't disappoint.
