Snowboard Kids

$39.99

N64GM029 -Developed by Racdym and published by Atlus Co., Ltd., "Snowboard Kids" was released for the Nintendo 64 game system on March 15, 1998. This game is a rare sleeper, a little known gem that rivals many of the highly acclaimed games of its time like 1080 and SSX. Patterned more for a younger crowd, Snowboard Kids still features challenge and many difficult tricks to learn. Gameplay is great, and players can choose from various characters with different look and skills. What I love about it is that the controls are relatively simple and easy to adjust to. Even learning the trick combos won't take forever to master, because the controls are very well designed. Snowboard Kids is just a very addictive amazing racing game. You you control one of five snowboarders who compete against each other for money and the prestige of being top dog. You can collect money on the course, or win cash at the end of the race. Certain stunts you do while racing can earn you money as well. And there are plenty downhill slalom courses, diverse tracks ranging from snowy mountainsides to wild and wooly grassy countryside or deserts. Boo-ya! And any money you accumulate can be spent to upgrade your board or get items while racing. There are many lovable characters in the game (my personal favorite Slash Kamei). The graphics are above average, making things look really realistic, generally what you would expect from the Nintendo 64 platform. The bottom line is, it looked really amazing and I loved playing this game. As for the sound, it is just phenomenal with a catchy soundtrack that will have you tapping your feet and humming along. Even if you are not a fan of this type music, it may get stuck in your head because it is just that good. There are lots of exploration do do and many unlockables (make sure you have a memory card). There are also many different modes to choose from, including a speed mode, stunt mode, shoot mode and multiplayer mode where you can race against up to three other players. Multiplayer is where this snow board game really shines as if shifting out into another gear. If you want to play a game that will still entertain you long after you've mastered it and is "just plain simple fun," then Snowboard Kids for the N64 is for you. Pre-owned. Includes game cartridge only. Rarity Rating C+ - Review by NES Gamer
