N64GM027 - Developed by Eurocom Entertainment Software and published by GT Interactive Software Corp., "Duke Nukem 64" was released for the Nintendo 64 game system on November 14, 1997. The ever popular Duke Nukem 3D makes its way to the N64 as a worthwhile port with plenty of new additions. However, while there are still some some dancing girls, all nudity and adult book stores in this Nintendo 64 game version of Duke Nukem have been removed. Some weapons of the PC version have been exchanged or if you prefer, upgraded in this N64 version. For example, instead of the Ripper chain gun, you have a chargeable plasma Cannon. Instead of the Freeze-ray you have two sub-machine guns, and instead of the Devastator you have the Expander weapon. There has also been added a grenade launcher. The levels are somewhat expansive with so many new areas for you to explore. And all with the same humorous quips and comments we love that have made Duke Nukem famous. The sound effects are simply great. The graphics in Duke Nukem 64 for Nintendo are much better than the computer version. The environments are greatly improved, and the levels are all well designed from polygons, with your enemies of sprites. The gameplay is good also, controls fluent and the game runs pretty smoothly. There is a multiplayer cooperative mode that lets you and up to three friends go at it on a split screen, either cooperatively against bots, or competitively. So even if you're a big fan of the PC version, you'll still want to check out this Duke Nukem 64. Its a fast paced enjoyable shooter full of explosive action around every bend. Rated M for Mature, though is an option available to turn the blood off. - Pre-owned. Includes game cartridge only. Rarity Rating C+ - Review by NES Gamer
